General Information

The SACUBO 2017 Annual Meeting will take place at the Diplomat Resort and Spa located at 3555 South Ocean Drive Hollywood, Florida  33019.

The official dates of the meeting are April 30 - May 2, 2017. The first day of educational sessions is Sunday, April 30.

General Session Speakers

  • Scott Jaschik is one of the three founders of Inside Higher Ed.  Scott is a leading voice on higher education issues.

  • Herman Boone is a former American high school football coach, most famous for coaching at T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Boone was portrayed by Denzel Washington in the 2000 film Remember the Titans.

  • Derreck Kayongo is the founder of the Global Soap Project, which recycles partially used and discarded bars of soap from thousands of hotels and redistributes it to disadvantaged populations around the world.

Fort Lauderdale, FL area Climate and Appropriate Dress

With 3,000 hours of annual sunshine, the typical high in the Fort Lauderdale area in April is 82 degrees, and the low is 62 degrees.  Be sure to have a sweater or light jacket available since it may be cool in the meeting rooms.

Casual business attire is suitable for all meeting, sessions, and receptions.


Parking is available in the Diplomat Resort & Spa. The current rate for daily and overnight self-park guests is $26.00 + tax. The overnight charge includes unlimited in and out privileges. Rates are subject to change.  

CPE Information

When every dollar counts, it is good to know that the SACUBO Annual Meeting meets your professional and educational needs. Earn CPE credits as you attend sessions, confer with colleagues, and meet industry leaders from across the region. Participants that attend all educational sessions offered will be able to earn up to an estimated 18.5 CPE credits.

Certificates will be emailed within two weeks after the meeting.

The Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
